Adelina lives in exile in Austria. For her, sharing her story and writing have become not only a way to survive, but also a way of helping others see that even against all odds, there can still be light at the end of the tunnel. Adelina dreams of stability, her mother by her side, and a future she can call her own.
Adelina’s mother is a strong woman who chose love and stood by her child. Once respected in her community, she became an outcast after supporting Adelina. She lost her job, her friends, and her family, and now lives in isolation, confined to her home much like Adelina once was. She represents everyone who stands up for what is right, no matter the consequences.

Help us support Adelina and her mother as they try to build a safer, more stable future.
Through this campaign, we hope to offer practical and immediate support. The funds raised will go directly to Adelina and her Mother to help meet daily needs, provide greater stability, and support them as they rebuild their lives during this critical time.
A Song Without Home tells the story of Adelina, a young trans woman who after 11 years confined to her family home, flees a Georgian village for Vienna in search of the freedom to be herself. As she builds her new life, she faces the past that refuses to let her go. Through the mother-daughter bond, A Song Without Home paints a layered portrait of belonging and the complexity of freedom beyond physical liberation.
The film expands on the short Prisoner of Society (2018), nominated for a European Film Academy Award, which played a crucial role in securing Adelina asylum in Austria.
