Leela rani is one of the first women auto drivers to start driving in the city of Chennai.
The union currently has a strength of 370-400 women in the city of Chennai. The aim is to grow this to 3000 women by 2030.
Auto Queens is having its world premiere at IDFA and was at The Good Media Pitch, Doxumentale, Berlin in June 2025. We have received from India based non-profit Mantra Foundation to carry out media literacy camps with the women drivers in Chennai to provide training to them to learn narrative & storytelling skills.
