Transversale is a documentary following three transgender women—Yasmine, Chanel, and Glams—on their passage
across borders: from country to country, between past and future, and through survival and celebration. The film finds its protagonists in forced exile in Tunisia after a harrowing journey across the Sahara Desert. Denied the right to simply exist in their homeland of Cameroon, they flee life-threatening persecution in search of freedom. Their individual paths unfold as they fight to reclaim their bodies, assert their identities, and build lives that accept them as they are. It is a journey marked by courage and resilience—a powerful expression of the will to be, against all odds.
