Born and raised in Halifax Nova Scotia, Stephanie was a natural storyteller, creating short stories and reporting at her local school media club at 16. Studying Radio and Television at Ryerson University (now MTU) led to a successful 30 year career in News programming. "The Narrows: The Case for Africville", is her first feature length documentary.

Nelson v. Halifax is the new title of the 30+ years long court case that has kept compensation and reparations away from the victims of an illegal land seizure, beginning in 1960.
