A Golden Life
Rasmané, alias Bolo, 16, is a teenage gold miner at the Bantara site in Burkina Faso. Like all teenagers of his age, he is playful and dreamy. His chances of finding work should be increased by paying for additional training so that he can do the mechanics of these same machines for 10 months. This dual competence would facilitate his professional integration and the obtaining of decent work.
Farma Missa (14 years old). Missa (14 years old) has been fatherless since September 2022. Her mother cannot support his return to school. The production tries to do it but will not be able to do it for more than 3 years while Missa is only in CM2. Additional means would be needed to pay for his studies and his daily expenses until he obtains the baccalaureate.
Sambo (20 years old) is Bolo's cousin. His father does not work and neither does his mother. It is a family of shepherds whose village of origin is under terrorist embargo. Sambo has never been to school. All that is accessible to him is work in gold panning. But we believe that it is possible to accompany his effort and get him out of this environment with qualifying training. He agrees to train if we pay it for him. Dramane (15 years old) has an alcoholic father and a mother who does not work. Even if the father is not violent, he does not concern himself with the future of his son.
