I Ran Up and I Ran Down, a documentary by Anna R. Japaridze and Robert Hope, follows 16-year-old Mariam, who has spent eight winters isolated with her mother in Tusheti, a remote mountain region cut off by snow for half the year.

Filmed over four years, this intimate coming-of-age story follows Mariam as she navigates the challenges of growing up with a cognitive disability, takes her first steps toward adulthood, and finds her place in a rapidly changing community where traditional ways of life are disappearing.
