About the Film:
Shaped by Land follows Inuit ski guide Adam Kjeldsen from his childhood in the arctic village of Aasiaat to his life today in Greenland’s capital of Nuuk. Today, he is one of the only Inuit ski guides in Greenland, building a career that bridges world-class guiding with deep local roots.
As ski tourism expands across Greenland, the industry is dominated by foreign operators whose extractive approach contrasts with local traditions. Shaped by Land explores how Adam is carving out a different path—connecting visitors to Greenlandic stories, food, and culture, while creating opportunities for the next generation of local guides. His approach is rooted in bonds to land, community, and culture.
