Our protagonist, María Yesenia Herrera Benítez, is 26 years old and the eldest of eight sisters who work in agriculture. She has a seven-year-old son named Deiner, nicknamed "Totoi," whom she is raising without a father. For as long as she can remember, she has worked on farms picking coffee, and she completed her primary education at age 15. She is a strong and pragmatic woman, very resilient, and she enjoys working, chatting, and making friends.
Thanks to the support you give to Maria Yesenia, her nomadic life will change. She is looking to start a coffee and food business in her town that will allow her to live close to her son.

Traveling and working constitute the basis of her autonomy. She keeps a notebook in her luggage where she writes and reflects about her past and the life that she faces as a woman and as a mother who must provide for a household full of problems and scarcity from afar. Despite her youth, her body is weakening, calling into question her own idea of freedom.
