Nadja is a highly sensitive and socially gifted young woman whose mind moves faster than she can process reality. Her life is chaotic and unstable: plans change constantly, jobs are lost, and bills go unpaid. Living in the fast lane, she drifts toward social exclusion, where substance use and psychedelic parties become part of her coping. After a breaking point and failed support systems, she retreats from the city into the Finnish lake wilderness, toward an isolated island that changes everything.
The mythical “Hermit of Lake Päijänne” lived for more than 40 years on a remote island. He lived in deep respect for nature and was said to possess supernatural abilities. Surviving by fishing, he invented the world-famous fishing lure known as the “wobbler,” though another man took credit for the invention. He was forced to leave behind the love of his life after she became pregnant. Following this, he was believed to have drowned, but decades later Nadja’s grandfather accidentally discovered him.
